This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
During World War II, the German army developed and introduced a large number of armored troop transport vehicles to increase the mobility of accompanying infantry of tank units. Among them was the Sd.Kfz.251, which was based on the 3-ton half-track; it had tires on the front and tracks in the rear, as well as an open-top armored body. It was deployed starting in 1939, and various types of this vehicle were made and used during the war. Among the variations was a type with rocket launchers mounted on both sides of the vehicle, attached to three square launch frames on the body. Three sizes of rockets — 28cm, 30cm and 32cm — could be loaded into the launchers.
This kit from Italeri is packed with an intense level of detail, even at 1/72 scale; the highlight of the kit are the six Wurfrahmen 40 rocket launchers, three mounted on each side of the vehicle’s body.
