This is an injection-plastic field gun model kit.
After the withdrawal at Dunkirk in 1940, the British Army was seriously lacking equipment, including anti-tank guns, and when Germany’s invasion of the British mainland became a reality, a militia “Home Guard” by male volunteers aged 17 to 65 was organized. The Smith Gun is a simple smoothbore anti-tank gun used buy the Home Guard which was able to fire shaped charges and grenades. The gun body is mounted on a two-wheeled carriage, and by connecting it to an ammunition trailer, it could be towed by a truck as a four-wheeled trailer; by laying it on its side when shooting, the armor plate between the wheels served as a shield. The wheels each had a special gun carriage structure that served as the bottom plate of the gun as well as a defensive roof. Initially, there were many accidents with this gun and it was unpopular among the troops, but since its training period was short and it was possible to quickly move it to its launch position, as well as its destructive power against armored vehicles, the militia decided it was the best weapon in their arsenal.
This kit includes the Smith Gun body, an ammo trailer, and multiple types of ammunition. It can be built in the traveling or shooting mode. Order yours today!
