This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

The PLA ZBL-09 is an eight-wheeled armored vehicle that was developed by the People’s Republic of China in the 1990s, and was formalized in 2009. Developed by Norinco Co., Ltd., it has a complicated mechanism of eight-wheel-drive with eight-wheel independent suspension, and it also performs amphibiously, propelled by water jets. It’s equipped with a German Deutz BF6M1015C diesel engine. It boasts a top speed of 100km/h, and has a range of 800km. Various versions have been developed, including armored personnel carrier types and infantry fighting vehicle types. In addition to being used by the People’s Republic of China Army, it’s also exported to Argentina, Thailand and Venezuela; it also participates in the United Nations peacekeeping forces.

This model kit from Dragon brings us a sharply detailed replica of the infantry fighting vehicle version of the PLA ZBL-09. Its straight-lined design includes high-relief details on the surface of the hull; a 30mm auto cannon is mounted on a swivel turret on top, and an HJ-73 anti-tank missile is mounted on each side. The smoke discharger is also reproduced; the door at the rear of the hull can be assembled opened or closed. The lower part of the hull is slide-molded for accuracy.
