The Oshkosh M1070 is the U.S Army’s current Heavy Equipment Transport System (HETS) used to transport and deploy various armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery, and armored bulldozers. Production of the M1070 began in 1992 after the U.S Army contracted Oshkosh to make over 1000 transport units for the M1 Abrams tank. The M1070 was paired with a DRS Technologies M1000 semitrailer specifically to tow the Abrams.
