This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Jagdtiger is a tank destroyer equipped with a 55-caliber 12.8cm tank gun, first developed in 1943. It was developed in parallel with the Tiger II tank, and the two vehicles shared parts. A large fixed battle room was set up to accommodate the 12.8cm gun, and the body was extended by about 26cm. The mockup was completed in October 1943; the first production model rolled off the assembly line in February of the following year. It was equipped with a Mayback V-type 12-cylinder gasoline engine in the rear, and it had the same torsion bar suspension as the Tiger II. The body was strongly armored with 25cm on the front and 8cm on the side; its 12.8cm gun made it a foe to be reckoned with for the Allied Forces. It was assigned to the 653rd Independent Heavy Tank Destroyer Battalion and the 512th Independent Heavy Tank Battalion, and it was active in the Battle of Ardenne and the Battle of Remagen Iron Bridge.
This kit from Italeri is an all-new mold that’s easy to assemble. The zigzag array of wheels at the bottom of the hull is reproduced integrally, and the track is also partly integrated and easy to assemble for a realistic finish. The shape of the upper hull and the welding marks are realistically reproduced; the 12.8cm gun is integrally molded with the muzzle open.
