Product Description
IDAP Technology 1/48 Italian Benelli M36 Trike Motorcycle.
The standard military type Benelli was based on the 500cc VLM model of the Benelli M36 trike. The M36 was adopted by the army in 1936 to accelerate the mechanization of infantry units (particularly Bersaglieri). This trike underwent shooting tests during the Spanish Civil War and was also used to tow the Breda (20mm anti-aircraft gun). This machine was highly regarded by soldiers for its robustness. Special police and mechanized cavalry rated it highly. It had a top speed of 72.6 km/h and a load capacity of 400 kg. The trike was equipped with a 493.6cc single-cylinder engine (13 horsepower at 4,500 rpm). It was not just for transporting ammunition. In places where a special towing hitch was installed, the machine transformed into a tow vehicle for the Cannone da 47/32 Mod 35 (anti-tank gun). It was widely used across various battlefields during World War II. The M36 was also used as a mobile radio center and as an anti-aircraft mount equipped with an 8mm machine gun on a tripod.
