The upper support wheel of the German III assault gun G type, which formerly used rubber parts, was replaced with a steel rim from 1943 onwards to save valuable rubber resources. The manufacturer MIAG, which was producing the Jagdpanther, also joined in the production of parts for the Sturmgeschutz III, and it was producing this upper support wheel since 1943.
