This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.

Developed as an artillery towing tractor before World War II, the French Somua MCG half-track was seized by the German army after the fall of France in 1940 and various derivatives were created under the designation S.307(f).

Brach Model has already modeled a type with armored protection and 16 barrels of 81mm mortar mounted on a rotating gun mount as [BM065] Somua MCG Light Multi-barreled Mortar (16 barrels) S307(f) Full Kit (with decals). This time, however, the kit replicates the early production vehicle from the prototype.

The kit, like its predecessor, showcases the company’s excellent craftsmanship, successfully combining ease of assembly with intricate detail. The chassis and suspension are accurately reproduced, and the OVM (Other Vehicle Materials) stoppers are molded with a thinness that injection molding cannot achieve, eliminating the need for etched parts.

Differences from the prototype/early production vehicle, such as the lower superstructure, shorter rear gun platform, different types of rotating gun mounts, and the presence or absence of front mudguards and rear miscellaneous boxes, are faithfully reproduced.
