This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
In 1941, an open-top turret was installed on a Panzer IV chassis, and the 10.5cm IeFH18 howitzer was mounted on the Panzer IV B-type 10.5cm self-propelled howitzer. It used the Panzer IV chassis that had been truncated and shortened; it had two fewer wheels and one less upper support wheel. A 28-caliber 10.5cm light howitzer IeFH18.1 was mounted on the open-top turret; the turret was able to rotate 35 degrees left and right. It was equipped with a Maybach HL66P water-cooled in-line six-cylinder gasoline engine. A prototype vehicle was completed in 1942, but it was not transferred to mass production.
This model kit from Dragon accurately reproduces the shape of the shortened Panzer IV chassis, as well as the suspension, sprocket wheels, idler wheels and six pairs of road wheels. The crawler belts are Magic Tracks for ease of assembly and a three-dimensional finish. The sharp reproduction of the engine deck grill on the upper part of the hull and the driver’s hatch that can be built opened or closed enhance the sense of reality. The turret is detailed with only the open top and the inside of the armor plate; the 10.5cm howitzer is delicately modeled in the center. Photo-etched parts are included to enhance details.
