Description

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

The German Panzer III, which was active as a main battle tank in the early days of World War II, underwent various modifications as the war situation changed, and many different types were created. The M type can be said to be the final production type of the original anti-tank combat tank, and 250 of this version were produced from 1942 to 1943. It was characterized by a waterproof structure and parts equipped with exhaust ports, air intakes, and hatches to enhance its water-crossing ability. Its main gun was a 60-caliber 5cm tank gun KwK39. In 1943, modifications were made such as installing a 5mm thick armor plate on the side of the hull and turret, with a gap between them. On the Eastern Front, it took advantage of its high water-crossing ability, and fought bravely in the German armored forces in the Battle of Kursk, known as the largest tank battle in history.

This model kit from Dragon is modeled on the III M type in the 1943 Battle of Kursk. The crawler track uses a built-up Magic Track for a realistic finish; the details of the road wheels, idler wheels suspension and more enhances the impression of the completed model. The lower part of the hull is molded integrally using a slide mold; the upper part of the hull, the engine deck, and left and right fenders are separate parts. The engine deck hatch can be built opened or closed, and two types of exhaust pipes and muffler mount parts are set at the rear of the vehicle. The turret’s shape is reproduced with a three-way slide mold; the side hatch can be built opened or closed. In addition, the storage box at the rear of the turret is also accurately modeled with a slide mold; the lid can be assembled opened or closed. The turret that enhances the powerful finish, additional armor on the side of the hull, and Scherzen are included too. This is the perfect model kit to build in this 80th anniversary year of the Battle of Kursk — order yours today!
