This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.
The Type 89 12.7cm twin tube anti-aircraft gun was the standard AA gun of the large battleships of Imperial Japanese Navy in WWII. Development of this design began with the concept of countering the dive bomber in the early 1930’s. The twin tube, powered elevation, and automatic loader were the key mechanical factors in increasing the firing rate in the necessarily short engagement period. The gun displayed great performance in higher firing altitudes (9800m). This zinc diecast kit is highly detailed and the complicated mechanism of the twin gun is reproduced thoroughly. Gun tubes are made of lathed aluminum. This limited edition includes the four gun crew figures and the large blast shields for gunner and fuse setter, made of resin. As a model of large ordnance, this one is very attractive!
