The most numerous and famous French armored vehicle was the AMD-35. It was designed by the Panhard Company as a reconnaissance vehicle for cavalry. Its serial production was launched in 1934. It was named the Panhard 178 and had rear engine and all-wheel drive. The main armament was the 25mm anti-tank gun. 551 units were produced up to 1940.
Panhard 178 cavalry units took part in combat as part of the French Army in the spring of 1940. With proper use, these machines could resist all types of German tanks and armored cars.
Contains parts molded in brown plastic, and includes decals and soft plastic tires.
