The R35 is a light tank developed by Renault of France in the mid-1930s. It was the main force of the French Army tank corps at the time, but it could not compete with the more heavily armed German Army that invaded in 1940, and many were destroyed or captured. There were several improvements to the R35, one of which was a prototype vehicle equipped with the turret of the FCM36 light tank, but it was not put into practical use.
