The manufacturing of the armored troop carrier BTR-152K was launched in 1959 with the BTR-152B. The BTR-152K is intended for transportation and defense of 13 paratroopers and team from machine gun fire and shell splinters. Besides machine gun fire, the soldiers had an opportunity to fire their personal weapons through gun slots in the boards. The first armored troop carrier BTP-152 was produced in May 1947.
