This is a resin-cast figure or figure set for use with military dioramas or individual display.
The model for this figure is Sandor Szurmay (1860-1945), who was the Colonel General of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Minister of Defense of Hungary. In 1914, during World War I, he was active on the Galician and Carpathian fronts against the Imperial Russian Army, and was appointed to the Minister of Defense position by Charles I in 1917. After retiring from the military in 1921, he wrote several books on military history.
