Description
This is a resin-cast figure or figure set for use with military dioramas or individual display.
In the Normandy landing operation conducted by the Allied Forces on June 6, 1944 as a counteroffensive operation against Germany, U.S. paratroopers dropped behind the German army on the eve of the decisive action for the purpose of disturbance and obstruction of the counterattack. Due to a serious of unfortunate factors, the unit fell like it was scattered, losing more than half of the necessary number of troops; however, this spurred confusion in the German Army and made it impossible for them to carry out an effective counterattack, resulting in great sacrifices.
This model kit from Young Miniatures builds into a 1/10-scale bust of a U.S. Army Airborne soldier just before he descends from a transport plane to participate in a series of difficult airborne operations. The shape of the shoulders and arms has been boldly eliminated to skillfully reproduce the paratrooper preparing to descend with a hook to open the parachute.
