The 105/28 field gun was a heavy field cannon developed in Italy in 1914. Initially, the Italian Army’s artillery units were equipped only with howitzers, but they required cannons with a longer range than those used by enemy forces.

Although Italy was originally part of the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary, it abandoned the alliance and signed the Treaty of London with Britain, France, and Russia. Through this, Italy obtained the French Schneider 105 mm gun, which became the basis for the development of the 105/28 field gun. This artillery piece saw significant action on the French front during World War I, and was later used extensively in the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, the Spanish Civil War, and World War II. It remained in service until its retirement in 1951.

This kit features the version with wooden wheels and allows the modeler to choose between transport or deployed configurations.
