The BA-9 armored vehicle was first manufactured in 1936, the changed form of the turret, new engine and radio station differentiates the BA-9 from the base BA-6 model. A large caliber DK machine-gun was placed in the turret, and the armored body was installed on a chassis of the GAZ-AAA automobile. The BA-9 was equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun DK, and a 7.62mm machine gun DT. The machine weighed 4.5tonnes and have a maximum speed of 55km/h and was manned by a four man crew.
