Ever since its first type was formalized in 1981, the American M1 Abrams tank remains the most powerful tank in the world. Various modifications have been made to its armor and firepower, as well as its electronic equipment being expanded and improved; this has strengthened the cooperation between infantry units and headquarters, and has also increased its attack power. In 1984, various parts were improved, such as replacing the main gun with a 120mm smooth cannon, and it evolved into the M1A1.
