This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The German military vehicle known as the Kubelwagen was developed by the German Army in World War II and widely used on the battlefield. It was based on the Volkswagen, with an air-cooled horizontally opposed four-cylinder 985cc engine mounted on the rear of a lightweight monocoque body. The four-wheel independent suspension used a torsion bar. Due to its light weight, it demonstrated excellent running performance, even running on rough terrain with its two-wheel drive. Over 50,000 were produced by the end of the war; it was active in virtually every unit and on each front, from North Africa to the Eastern Front.
This model kit of the World War II German Army Kubelwagen Type 82 from Italeri is in a big 1/9 scale, and includes stencils for painting its unit markings! The engine, chassis and suspension are all reproduced in detail; the engine is an air-cooled horizontally opposed version with auxiliary equipment.
