The Japanese Type 74 tank is a second-generation tank developed as a successor to the Type 61. More than 40 years have passed since its introduction in 1974, and production on the successor to this tank has already begun, but Type 74 tanks are still widely deployed in Japan. It carries a 105mm tank gun and is equipped with laser rangefinders, ballistic calculators, and gun stabilizers enabling accurate and quick shooting. The well-protected hull features a low posture, making it excellent on rough roads, and it is also capable of fording rivers if necessary.
